Overland Group AS is a Norwegian technology and infrastructure company. We design, install and operate modular edge data centers used mainly for AI inference, cooled by direct liquid cooling and powered by Norwegian hydropower with directly coupled battery storage.
Overland Group AS is headquartered in Oslo and develops projects in Agder and Nordland. We design, build, install and operate modular data centers, and we sell capacity and services in those facilities.
Our facilities are built for high-density computing. Racks are cooled with direct liquid cooling (DLC), which allows far higher power density per rack than air cooling and makes better use of the space and power available at each site. Electricity is drawn primarily from Norwegian hydroelectric generation, and every module is connected directly to a battery energy storage system for backup power and for reducing energy cost.
Our customers are companies and institutions in Norway and Central Europe that need dependable compute close to where they operate. Every engagement runs on a written agreement with defined service levels. The business has been privately funded by its founder through the development phase, and capacity is added as contracts are signed.
Direct liquid cooling and hybrid liquid-air infrastructure, designed for dense GPU racks rather than retrofitted around them.
Sites are selected around existing hydroelectric generation and available grid capacity, complemented by wind where the local grid allows.
Every module is connected directly to a battery energy storage system, giving backup power for critical load and peak shaving on the grid connection.
Capacity is added module by module against signed customer demand, so capital spending follows contracts instead of speculation.
From building the physical infrastructure to running the workloads inside it. Each service is delivered under a written agreement and invoiced monthly or per project.
We design, deliver and install data center infrastructure: low-voltage electrical systems, liquid cooling loops, pipework, racks, networking and monitoring. Delivered as project work for customers and for our own sites.
Monthly colocation in prefabricated modules for high-density AI workloads, with redundant power paths, direct liquid cooling, high-capacity fiber and 24/7 monitoring.
Managed access to GPU capacity for AI inference and model deployment, billed monthly or by usage. Customers are identified and contracted before any capacity is released.
We build, deploy and host AI applications and AI agents for business customers, running on our own infrastructure and integrated with the customer’s existing systems.
Renewable power procurement and battery storage services for our own and customer sites, including backup power, peak shaving and load optimisation against grid tariffs.
Technical advisory for companies planning their own capacity: site screening, power and grid assessment, cooling design, module specification and build planning.
Services run on written agreements with defined service levels, monthly reporting and a named point of contact. We work with companies and institutions rather than private consumers.
Our footprint follows Norway’s renewable energy geography: an Oslo head office, with modular capacity developed in the south and the north.
Registered office at Sørkedalsveien 5C. Commercial, engineering and administrative functions sit here, together with customer and supplier relations.
Dense hydroelectric generation and strong transmission links make the region well suited to power-intensive modular deployments close to European demand.
A cool climate extends free-cooling hours and reduces mechanical load, alongside abundant renewable supply and land available for phased build-out.
We deploy prefabricated modular data centers rather than single large halls. Each module is manufactured off site, delivered to a prepared power and fiber connection, and commissioned as an independent block of capacity.
Cooling is the core of the platform. Direct liquid cooling brings coolant to the chip, which lets us run dense GPU racks that air cooling cannot support, and the Nordic climate extends the hours in which heat can be rejected without mechanical cooling. Because the modules are small and self-contained, capacity can be placed at the edge, closer to where inference is actually consumed, instead of only in central campuses.
The platform is built and tuned for AI inference and HPC. We do not host cryptocurrency mining: it has a different thermal and commercial profile, and our capacity is committed to customers running production workloads under long-term agreements.
Every module is connected directly to a battery energy storage system. The battery does two jobs: it carries critical load if the grid supply is interrupted, and it shifts consumption away from expensive hours to reduce the cost of energy.
The storage system sits directly on the data center bus and carries critical load instantly if grid supply is interrupted.
Stored energy covers demand peaks, which reduces capacity charges and smooths the site’s draw on the grid.
Charging during low-price hours and discharging during expensive hours lowers the effective cost of electricity per rack.
Our supply comes primarily from Norwegian hydroelectric plants: dispatchable, long established and low carbon.
Where the local grid mix allows, hydro is complemented by Norwegian wind generation.
Most of our projects follow the same path. It keeps the engineering predictable and lets customers plan around firm dates.
We screen locations for available grid capacity, renewable supply and connection cost, and agree the power envelope with the local grid operator before anything is ordered.
Module layout, liquid cooling loop, electrical distribution, storage sizing and network design are specified against the customer’s rack density and growth plan.
Modules are manufactured off site and installed on a prepared foundation. We handle low-voltage works, cooling, pipework, racks, networking and commissioning.
Once live, we run the facility: monitoring, maintenance, energy management and capacity expansion as demand grows, under a service agreement.
You can come to us for a single build project, for rack space in an existing module, for GPU capacity, or for all three. Commercial terms are set out in a written agreement covering scope, service levels, power and price.
Every site depends on people and equipment close to it. We buy power and connectivity locally, contract Norwegian installers and service companies, and source hardware from vendors across the EU.
If you work in any of these areas, send us your company details and references.
Overland Group AS is registered in Oslo to develop renewable-powered digital infrastructure in Norway.
Systematic screening of Norwegian sites around hydroelectric generation and available grid capacity begins.
Development effort concentrates on two regions chosen for renewable supply, grid access and cooling conditions.
Direct liquid cooling and direct BESS coupling are adopted as standard across the modular platform.
Phased deployment of modular capacity, first installation projects, and preparation for expansion across the Nordics and Central Europe.
Data centers are long-lived assets with a real footprint on the grid, the landscape and the communities around them. How we build and run them matters as much as what we build.
Our facilities run on renewable electricity, primarily Norwegian hydropower. Liquid cooling and the Nordic climate keep the cooling overhead low, battery storage smooths our draw on the grid, and heat recovery is assessed at every site where there is somewhere useful for the heat to go.
Sites have layered physical access control, monitored perimeters and 24/7 operations. Customer data stays in Norway unless the customer asks otherwise, and personal data is processed under the GDPR and Norwegian data protection law.
We do business through written contracts and transparent invoicing. We neither offer nor accept improper payments, we check who we are contracting with and screen counterparties against applicable sanctions regimes, and we expect the same standard from our suppliers.
Most of what we spend goes to companies near our sites: grid operators, electricians, service firms and contractors. We support the aims of the Norwegian Transparency Act and look at working conditions and human rights when we choose who we buy from.
Modular capacity is smaller and quieter than a single large campus, and it can be placed where there is spare grid capacity rather than where it strains the network. We talk to municipalities and grid operators early, before a site is committed.
For colocation capacity, installation projects, supply proposals or co-development, write to us and we will come back with the right person.
